NARCON is returning to
New England for the first time in quite a while. This year the
format of NARCON is a bit of a change from years gone by. It is
going to be more about rocketry in general than about model
rocketry. This year we are going to explore how sport rocketry can
be used to help educate young folks and inspire them to enter the
world of science and technology. To that end NARCON is divided into
five distinct yet related areas of interest.
NAR Specific – These
are discussions that are specific to the National Association of
Rocketry. Things you may want to
know about the inner workings of your national organization
Rocketry Education and
the Community – In this arena we explore how to apply rocketry
towards encouraging young folks to move forward. Part of this is how
to engage the community in our fun and educational hobby
Model Rocketry –
Discussions of rocketry as applied to rockets up to G impulse.
Presentations on techniques to win model rocket contests are
included
High Power Rocketry -
Subjects concerning rocketry as you pass the G motor threshold. Topics on construction, propulsion, and
recovery are
included
Rocket Science –
Discussions on the art of rocketry, what we can learn from it, and
the tools used in exploration.
