Sunday was a good day to fly - cool, comfortable spring temperatures, with just a bit of cloud cover for most of the day. It was also CATO's last Sterling launch before moving on to Durham next month - we won't return to the corn field until the crops are harvested in the fall. Thanks to Chuck Longton and Ray Dipaola for some fantastic photos!

Ulf Jonsson fills the tank on his hybrid rocket, and it flies off without a hitch. Later in the day, Ulf recovers his ever popular Piet Mondrian.

Ross Leshikar and William Kelly display Dave Sousa's beautiful red rocket that he had lent them to test their Real-Time G.P.S. Tracking Unit, that they'd built as their UConn Senior Engineering Project. Unfortunately, the launch did not go as expected, as the motor blew through the thrust ring, but the GPS Unit works well - Ross and William are donating the unit to the CATO club, which will certainly simplify rocket hunting in the future. You can read about their project on their web site. By the way, Dave's rocket was only minimally damaged and will fly again!
